Chief House Hunter, Sourcing Expert, Wine Runner & Bad-Joke Maker
With over eight years of experience as a realtor in Calgary’s resale market, three years working in the new home construction industry, and more than a decade in banking specializing in mortgages, I bring a diverse professional background to everything I do. At the same time, I also managed a division of sourcing and importing in a logistics company. All those skill sets have continuously served me well when it comes to finding unique solutions, stretching budgets, and turning big ideas into reality. Over the years, I’ve combined all these experiences into my passion for real estate, renovation projects, and design. In my spare time, I completed three renovation projects and running three Airbnb properties of my own. I’m also pursuing a certificate in interior design, because when you’ve already been executing projects from start to finish, why not add another title to the list?
But my story isn’t just about business or houses — it’s about resilience. I came to Canada as an international student at 18, not understanding a word my professors said in class. I faced language barriers, cultural challenges, and at times outright discouragement. From not understanding a word in my university lectures to being laughing at my accent in my first job to being told by a customer at my waitressing job to “go back to my country,” Those obstacles shaped me, not by breaking me down but by teaching me to grow stronger, to work harder, and to be proud of who I am. My accent, my background, and even the jokes about my “never-aging Asian genes” are all part of my story. Life hasn’t always been easy, but I believe the rose that grows in thorns shines brighter than the ones in the greenhouse.
On the personal side, I’ve been a single mother for the past ten years, raising my son — who has ADHD — on my own. It was never easy, often juggling two or three jobs at the same time to make sure I could support us. But watching him grow into a talented young artist, now entering AUArts, has been one of the greatest joys of my life. His creativity constantly inspires me, especially when it comes to interior design, and reminds me why I keep pushing forward no matter how tough things get.
When it came to this dome house, at the first glance, I immediately recognized both its challenges and its potential. My real estate eye spotted the opportunity, and my sourcing and project management skills helped bring it to life. I was lucky to find two amazing partners willing to dive into the challenge with me. Together, we poured a year of energy, sweat, laughter, and tears into this renovation. There were endless problems and setbacks along the way, but we held onto each other and kept moving forward. They say you shouldn’t mix friendship and business, but this project has made us not only closer friends, but truly like family. Looking back, I see not just a finished home but also the resilience, laughter, and late-night problem-solving that shaped it.
What makes me proudest is knowing that we didn’t just restore a house — we created a one-of-a-kind icon for Calgary, a place where guests from all over the world can come and experience something extraordinary It represents everything I believe in: spotting hidden potential, sourcing the right things to align with design, executing with precision, and bringing people together to create something unforgettable. Whether through real estate, renovation, or design, my passion lies in transforming spaces and leaving behind something meaningful. And if you stay here, just know: behind the polished finishes and thoughtful design, there’s also a little bit of my humor, my stubborn optimism, and maybe even a few of those bad jokes I’m known for.
